Spin Forever (37)

I reach out my hand,
to no one in particular….
you happen to grab hold
of it and never let it go.

We spin….

We spin….

We spin…

We spin…

into conversations,
hanging out to dry.

I wish this moment
would last forever
yet

We spin….

We spin….

We spin…

We spin….

dancing and
spiraling down
into chaos and
confusion.

Sing to me, sweet
lullabies,

tell me that I’m worth
it all.

Our hands are still
holding on.

You merely glance
at me, the look of
resentment.

Bitter is the one
who cries out to
me and say,

“Let me go! I
can’t do this
anymore.”

I reply in return,
being blurred
by sight,

“I am no quitter.
yet hanging onto
you weren’t bad at
all. This dance is
over now.”

Neither of us
wanted to let
go, yet it’s for
our own good.

People come
and people go
like sunrises
and sunsets.

I let go, moving
back and turning
away.

They watch me leave,
having no time to
grieve.

Neither did I.

Just know that I love
you and will never
forget the dance
we shared….

We spin forever
in hopeless
separation.
