After study hall, the
school bell signals
lunchtime.
I stand up from my
desk, frowning at the
realization that I forgot
to bring lunch with me
today.
I roll my eyes, patting
the wrinkles out of my
black skirt as I gather
my things.
I see Ronin already
slipping out of the
classroom and wish
he would have waited
for me so we could
leave together.
I try to calm my
disappointment,
reminding myself
that Ronin has made
it clear that our
relationship is sacred.
This also means that
no one from school
should know about
it.
We shouldn’t share
personal matters
with immature
individuals.
As I exit the classroom,
I notice commotion
already happening
in the hallway.
