My lunch has grown cold
and has barely been
touched.
I sip my cup of
water,
ignoring the many
people in the
cafeteria as I
pack up and
leave.
Secretly, I can feel Ronin’s
intense stare as I walk
out.
I hope he comes to
follow me and explain
his actions with Nina.
Mindlessly, I head to
the third floor and then
take the stairs leading
up to the school’s
rooftop.
The air smells fresh
and the sky is a
blue firmament,
soon to be dyed in
red from this black
clown.
I sit down on the rooftop’s
ground and open a packet
of sweet bread before
eating.
It has a red bean
filling in the middle.
I miss Ronin.
I know he’s not
going to show up
here.
He’s taking care of
business as we
speak.
What kind of
business, you
ask?
I’m not supposed to
say, and I swore I
wouldn’t tell.
As I mentioned before,
he pretends so well that
I sometimes get caught
up in an emotional
frenzy.
Him and I are
both monsters.
