Tetsuya answered the call
right away, his replies
seemed cold.
It was something I had
never seen until that
very moment.
“Hey…..”
He didn’t look happy.
Once the person on the
phone finished talking,
Tetsuya wore a vexing
expression.
“Fine. I will be home
in a bit.”
He ended the call.
It hadn’t even lasted
long.
Tetsuya’s unhappy expression
changed to a happy one
quickly.
“Are you okay? Who was that?”
I asked him in deep concern.
“My younger brother
needed help with one
of his math problems.
It’s his first time needing
my help too.”
Tetsuya explained.
“No way. I really wanted to
spend a lot of time with you
today.” I whined, done with
my lemon popsicle.
“I feel the same way.”
Tetsuya sighed and stood
up from the ground.
I stood as well, feeling
sad.
I didn’t understand why
Tetsuya had to go home
over some math problem
that his younger brother
couldn’t solve.
