As I sit and wait near
the mall’s entrance, I
feel a tinge of worry,
annoyed that I’m so
nervous.
My palms are sweaty.
Tsukino said she
wanted to hang
out and she’s
already five
minutes
late.
Today’s afternoon
feels calm.
It’s a cloudy yet
sunny day.
A day I won’t take
for granted.
I stand up from
the bench,
noticing a family
of birds near the
water fountain.
I watch in awe,
realizing how
free birds are
to go wherever
they want.
If only life was
that simple for
humans.
