“Let’s go.” Tetsu says,
grabbing my hand as
we both exit the dining
room.
I say nothing to Tetsu,
who suddenly lifts me
into his arms.
He leads me along a
familiar path, passing
the room where I was
held prisoner for a
while.
“I’m tired of this place.”
I whisper, feeling so
weak.
“I am too, that’s why
we are finally leaving.”
Tetsu’s steps start to
quicken as we run
toward the
stained-glass painting
of the Holy Rose.
As we break through it,
we see the outside
world.
The sky is a normal
blue with white clouds,
and we fall.
Peace.
That’s all I feel as
Tetsu and fall.
We continue falling,
deeper and deeper,
through the sky.
