“My big dream is to
get to heaven.” I tell
Tsukino, watching her
expression change to
one of pure curiosity.
“Heaven?”
“Yes, Tsukino. I’ve learned
that our purpose as human
beings on this earth is to
worship God and do his
will.”
I can tell Tsukino is thinking,
but I can’t read her thoughts.
“I need help with knowing
God.” Tsukino says, “I’m
interested and have always
been.”
“We can both learn together.”
I tell her.
She nods in agreement,
smiling softly.
We both suddenly
stare at each other,
both wearing the
same gentle
smile.
I don’t want this day to
end.
I don’t want our smiles to
fade.
These moments that form
are made by God.
And indeed, everything
that has happened during
this time is now just a
memory.
